Our Leaders

MG 2014Mitchell Greenberg, Master Director

Mitchell has been directing the Women of Note Chorus since 2010 and has quickly learned the culture and objectives of Sweet Adelines International. As an active ‘barbershopper’ since 1994, he has immersed himself in the art of barbershop harmony singing and has been actively involved with most of the BHS and SAI groups throughout South Florida. He has held leadership or directing positions in the Ft. Lauderdale Chordsmen Chorus, the Palm Beach Coastmen Chorus, the Sunshine District Board of Directors and he has been a vocal coach to various local men’s and women’s quartets. As an active quartetter, Mitch has sung baritone in several quartets over the years. His highest acclaim is placing 20th Internationally with HotShots Quartet in 2008, but most recently, singing with OverDrive Quartet and placing 2nd in the 2013 Sunshine District Competition.

By day, Mitchell is a Regional Sales Manager for a decorative laminate manufacturer and has a very patient wife and 2 'somewhat' patient children. He hopes to share the fun of a cappella singing with his kids one day, as he feels it is the only way he will ever be able to sing bass.

Elaine Haugan May 2014Elaine Haugan, Associate Certified Director

Elaine Haugan sang through school and majored in music at Palm Beach Atlantic University.  She is a charter member of Women of Note, with prior memberships in Song of Atlanta, Royal Palm Chorus, and Spirit of the Gulf, all international competitors.  With 37 years of Barbershop experience, Elaine has also sung in many award-winning quartets, achieving a 12th place placement at the international level in 2005 with Fireworks! She is currently the front-line director of Platinum Show Chorus, in the Melbourne area, which recently placed as most improved chorus in the region.  Elaine continues to perform with Women of Note and serves as our Associate Director.

Cindy Moeller 2014Cindy Moeller, Assistant Director

Cindy was hooked on barbershop from her first Women of Note rehearsal in January 2009! She has performed and sung in many venues previously, including traditional SATB choruses, amateur theatre and opera choruses, but nothing "struck a chord" like barbershop! As Assistant Director, Cindy leads warm-ups and fills in as Director at small ensemble performances.  She also serves as Tenor Section Teacher and sings tenor with Sunsation Quartet.

Libby Petrovsky 2014Libby Petrovsky, Assistant Director

Having had been involved with Sweet Adelines for many years, Libby has had the opportunity to be involved in many aspects of the organization.  With the Royal Palm Chorus, she served as Assistant / Associate Director, as choreographer and as Tenor Section Leader.  Among her most thrilling experiences was singing on the SAI stage 8 times, 3 with quartets and 5 with choruses. Libby has won Regional Competitions with her quartets Madrigals and Gold Coast Goodtime Singers.  One of her best memories was singing counterpoint to Lida Rose with the original Buffalo Bills when they were on Broadway in "The Music Man".  Libby is excited to be part of the Directing Staff under Mitch and is confident that the Women of Note will add to her thrills!!
